It is a sad universal truth that people’s decisions will affect your own decisions. In every scenario I can think of, my decisions of removing people from my life is based on their decisions of how they’ve treated me or what I’ve had to endure because of their decisions. Friendships and relationships alike. Like a flock, I realized that people really do come and go.
I can proudly say that I have a good tolerance with people in my life. After all, if it is a privilege for you, it is a privilege for me. I will deal with you and everything that comes along with you. I’ll be there through the good, the bad, the laughs and the arguments. I will forgive you time and time and again until I have no forgiveness left in me. Some can say that I’ve been foolish, and truth be told, I probably was in more occasions than one. But I think it makes for a really good back bone.. and not to mention, a smarter heart.
The best thing about good tolerance is that when you’ve finally had enough.. that is it. There’s no second guessing. There’s no turning back. There’s no what-if’s or what could-be’s. Your mind and heart are finally in sync with a decision. And god knows, those type of decisions are the best decisions of my life.
So, no.. me forgiving you is not an invitation back into my life. I’ve merely accepted that I can no longer be mad at you because I want you completely out of my life — feelings, memories and all. We built the bridge, crossed it, and now.. I’m burning it. Out of sight, out of mind.
